When a video is worth selling

Not every video needs a course platform. Some recordings are genuinely valuable as one-time purchases:

  • Code walkthroughs: A 45-minute deep-dive into your architecture, a refactoring session, a debugging walkthrough
  • Design critiques: A recorded UI/UX review of someone's product, annotated screen recording
  • Business system explanations: How you run your operations, your sales process, your content workflow
  • Consulting recordings: A one-time strategy session you recorded with permission
  • Tutorial packs: A set of focused recordings on one topic (e.g. "5 videos on CSS grid")
  • Behind-the-scenes content: How you built something, your creative process

Building a full Teachable or Podia course for a single video is overkill. Uploading to Gumroad is more friction than the product requires. The video is already hosted somewhere. It has a URL.

Sell your recording now4.5% flat. No course platform needed. Loom, Vimeo, Drive — any video URL.

How to get a shareable link from each platform

Loom

  1. Open your Loom recording
  2. Click Share → set to Anyone with the link
  3. Copy the link

That's it. The Loom URL is what you paste into unseal.link. Buyers who pay receive the Loom link by email and watch it directly.

Vimeo

  1. Go to your Vimeo video
  2. Click Privacy → set to Hide from Vimeo / Only people with a private link
  3. Copy the private video URL

Vimeo's privacy settings prevent direct search indexing. Buyers with the link can watch; everyone else gets a private video error.

Google Drive (uploaded video file)

  1. Upload your .mp4 or .mov file to Google Drive
  2. Right-click → ShareAnyone with the link can view
  3. Copy the link

Buyers click the link and stream or download the file directly from Drive.

YouTube (unlisted)

  1. Set your YouTube video to Unlisted (not private, not public)
  2. Copy the URL from the address bar

Unlisted YouTube videos are not searchable and do not appear in your channel. Only people with the URL can watch.

How to sell the video with unseal.link

  1. Get your video URL (Loom, Vimeo, Drive, YouTube unlisted)
  2. Paste the URL at unseal.link
  3. Set a title and price (video tutorials typically sell for $19–$149)
  4. Connect Stripe
  5. Share your paywall link — in your newsletter, on Twitter, in a community

Buyers pay via Stripe and receive the video link by email in under 30 seconds.

What to charge

| Video type | Typical price | |---|---| | Single focused tutorial (15–30 min) | $19–$39 | | Deep-dive walkthrough (45–90 min) | $39–$99 | | Recorded consultation / strategy session | $49–$149 | | Video pack (5–10 focused recordings) | $49–$199 | | Behind-the-scenes / process video | $9–$29 |

Price based on the value the buyer gets, not the length of the recording. A 20-minute architectural walkthrough that saves someone 3 days of research is worth more than a 2-hour intro tutorial.

No upload or re-hosting

Your Loom or Vimeo video is already hosted. Paste the URL directly. No re-encoding, no upload, no file size limits.

No course platform needed

Teachable and Podia are built for multi-module courses. For a single video or small pack, a paywall link is faster and cheaper.

4.5% vs 10%

Gumroad charges 10% even for video files. unseal.link charges 4.5% flat. On a $99 video that's $5.50 more per sale.

Frequently asked

What if I want to sell a multi-video course, not just one video?

For a full course with multiple modules, a course platform like Teachable, Podia, or even a private YouTube playlist or Notion page works better. unseal.link is best for selling a single video or a small pack where the overhead of a course platform is not worth it.

Can buyers share the video link with others?

Any shareable URL can be forwarded. For higher-value recordings, use Vimeo's domain restriction or private link settings to limit playback. For Loom, the viewer count is visible in your Loom dashboard — you will see if a link is getting unusual traffic.

Does this work for Loom Pro?

Yes. Any Loom video — free or Pro — generates a shareable URL. Set the privacy to 'Anyone with the link' and paste that URL into unseal.link.

Can I charge for a Zoom or Google Meet recording?

Yes. If you recorded a consultation or session and have the video file, upload it to Google Drive or Vimeo, create a share link, and sell access with unseal.link. This is common for freelance coaches and consultants who record client-consented sessions.
